CONNEMARA
This tour takes in the highlights of Connemara, Joyces Country and South Mayo. The starting point and your first night’s accommodation location is Clifden. This colorful town is often labelled the metropole of Connemara.
The loop ride takes you around the coast to Augrusbeg and Cleggan and out along the Sky Road. Leaving Clifden you will ride to the Lough Inagh Valley via Roundstone. From there we travel to Kylemore Abbey and Leenane on the shores of Killary Harbour into the beautiful Delphi Valley.
From here you turn east into the Maam Valley and Joyce‘s country to finish in the quaint village of Cong located on Lough Corrib and served as location for the film the Quiet Man and home to Ashford Castle (one of Ireland’s finest hotels with magnificent park). The last day is an easy ride through the East Galway countryside to Galway, a bustling historic city. The tour is suitable for riders of all levels.
KERRY
The Ring of Kerry abounds in natural wonders and the beauty and grandeur of the scenery is unsurpassed by any in Ireland. Starting in the town of Killarney made famous by the magnificent “Three Lakes of Killarney”, the “Ring” then continues anti-clockwise through Killorglin, Caherciveen, on to Waterville and Sneem before returning to Killarney.
We, however, find this route to be “overrun”with tourists and therefore unkind to cycles so for that reason we suggest a much more leisurely and quieter mix of inland and coastal routes to give you just the same beauty and splendour if not more!
