Highlights
On this classic cycle tour you will experience the combination of nature along the scenic riverbanks of the Danube as well as the unique opportunity to visit the most important metropolies that lay alongside the Danube. Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest have an overwhelming history with genuine notions of yesteryear. Nostalgia is combined with a deeply intriguing history along the ever-changing riverbanks of the Danube. Just to scratch the surface of this tour; it takes you to The Castle of Eckartsau, which happens to be the place where Austrian Emperor Karl the 1st and his wife Zita met their fate. In Bratislava, where the coronation of Hungarian Kings took place and the famous empress Maria Theresia acquired much of her fame, prestige and honour. In Esztergom, the first Hungarian king, King Stephan was born and accepted his coronation. Empress Sissi of Austria was crowned Queen of Hungary in Budapest. Arrival days every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On April & october: arrival days on Saturdays only
To
see
Czech countryside & large Czech cities and are in need of peace and quiet, Castles: Actually, there are over 2 000 castles around the country! The world’s largest castle complex is obviously in Prague. The country is also home to some of the oldest castles in the world. A Czech folk tradition has developed among the Czech people over a number of centuries.
Prague is the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic
Gastronomy
Its mouthwaring cuisine: Austrian cuisine is hearty and characterised by lots of regional variations. The most famous dish is obviously the Viennese Schnitzel but Austria has many other delicacies which will delight even the most demanding foodie. Much like its service, Austrian food is generally high-quality and comprised of local products.
Wine
Austrian wines are mostly dry white wines (often made from the Grüner Veltliner grape), though some sweeter white wines (such as dessert wines made around the Neusiedler See) are also produced.
